In memory of the Korean-American Comedian, Johnny Yune

This week, I would like to introduce a Korean-American comedian named Johnny Yune who came to the States in the 1960s to study classical music and became famous when discovered by the biggest comedian star in America, Johnny Carson. Yune was the very first Korean-American comedian who had been invited to Carson’s Tonight Show over 30 times. So sadly, his final years had been lonely and painful. He was diagnosed with dementia three years ago and passed away this last March, 2020 at the age of 84 at a nursing home for senior citizens in Southern California. Following the deceased’s wishes, Yune’s body was donated to the University of California-Irvine Medical Center.

You can check out his stand-up comedies in the following links.
