Expressions related to FREEDOM/ LIBERTY

Koreans mark August 15 as the most significantly important day in history. More than one generation of three decades under the Japanese colonialism had wreaked havoc on Korean culture and spirits. However, the indefatigable patriotism and resilience made it possible for the country to bounce back and stand tall where it is today. I would like to take a silent moment to pay tribute to all those selfless independence activists and fighters to save and keep my home country, Korea.

Today, let us go over some English expressions that are related to ‘freedom’ or ‘liberty’.

    1.   Now that he has turned in all his manuscripts to the publisher, Joe feels as free as a _____________ and begins to plan for his trips to Spain.

    2.    Heather bravely cut the _______________ with her toxic relationship and started a new chapter in her life.

    3.   Most people wish to become foot_______________ and fancy free when they retire in their twilight years.

    4.   Tim always had a rebellious streak, preferring to go his __________   _________ rather than follow the crowd."

   5.  Philosopher Kant mentions that only someone who is his own _________________ can have right to be a citizen.
